The history and the origins of Carnival are uncertain. Each year we celebrate this festivity, that historically was a symbol of a new year and rebirth, but it was also connected to ancient Rome in Italy. Despite the differences in the way this day is celebrated around, the common factor is that the streets are full of splendid and colorful costumes and people are energetically moving and dancing. It is a part of our cultural identity. In the US, the main city that celebrates carnival is New Orleans, in Italy it’s Venice, but the most famous festival in the world is the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro. No matter where you are, carnival is celebrated with parades, costumes and colorful expressions.
